It’s taken years, with little additions over time, to create a backyard that we love. It was very important to our family to have a place at our house that felt like an oasis AND gave us additional gathering places, so we’ve done a few projects and upgrades to help achieve that goal. I’m so excited to share about them and maybe inspire some fun ideas for your yard!

Deck
This was our latest addition and one that has sparked the desire to spend more time outside. @hhdecksandtimberz did such an amazing job bringing my vision to life. It has since become our family’s favorite dining/visiting spot! You can DM them on Insta for a quote!

Trampoline
We went with an in-ground trampoline since we live in a high-wind area, and I think my kids and their friends spend more time on there than anywhere else at our house! @trampolinesdownunder did all the work for us and we couldn’t be happier with it.

Hot tub
We LOVE our @emeraldpoolsandspas hot tub. It has served as a place for great conversations with my family members and friends, and a fun change of scene while at home. I’ve got all of the details in another blog post here.

Pergola area/ fire pit
Coming from two large families, we love to host events at our house, and it became imperative to have more than one seating area. We carved out a portion of our lawn, filled it with gravel, and installed a pergola to make a charming second gathering spot centered around an awesome faux fire-pit (linked above).

Storage/organization
You can find my favorite outdoor storage options, including our shed, in the Amazon link above. I can’t emphasize enough how much these containers have helped ease my Type A need for order. Even outside, everything can have a designated place!

Designing and creating more spaces to make memories can be a really beautiful experience, and I hope these big sister tips can serve as a helpful tool for you!
