I think we’ve learned by now that everyone’s skin chemistry is different. There are a million different skin care products on the market, and it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to find the right regimen for your specific skin needs. While I enjoy trying new products/at-home treatments, I have a few trusted sidekicks that I use every single day! Prioritizing my skin routine morning and night has revitalized me both physically and mentally, and I’m excited to share what has made a difference for me!

CLEANSER

I’ve been told by dermatologists and my esthetician friends that gentle cleansers are the way to go! Our skin doesn’t need intense scrubs or chemicals to get clean. I am a huge fan of Dime Beauty co (@dimebeautyco), and all of their products. Their formulas are clean, vegan, cruelty-free, and promote healthy, glowing skin. Their “Gentle Jelly Cleanser” is by far the best I’ve ever used. You can use my code REEVES20 for 20% off their site!

MOISTURIZER

The best thing we can do to maintain a healthy complexion is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! No surprise, I use the Dime Beauty co “Dewy Day Cream” for a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer. It leaves my skin looking glowy and feeling nourished.

TOOLS

Never underestimate a good toolkit! I use the PMD Beauty Clean Pro with rose quartz to exfoliate and soothe my pores while I use my cleanser. I also use the PMD Beauty Personal Microdermabrasion Machine once a week to smooth and even out my skin tone. It leaves my skin brighter and more supple, while also reducing the appearance of fine lines.

And you already know I’m a HUGE fan of cryotherapy ice rolling! It firms and wakes up your face, on top of feeling incredible! You can shop my Body Love Basics Ice Roller HERE

SERUM

The use of serums as part of a healthy skin routine has become increasingly popular, and for good reason! A good quality serum will soak vitamins deep into your skin for highly effective results. When it comes to serums I have tried, nothing has come close to The Daily Essential co’s “Skin Bae”! It’s an all-natural, plant-based formula that includes rosehip oil, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. It literally makes you GLOW.

MAKEUP REMOVER

When it comes to removing my makeup at the end of the day, I keep it pretty standard. I have always used the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, because of their gentle nature and ability to remove every trace of makeup from my face.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

On top of a solid skin regimen, there are a few simple practices that help protect our faces from the harshness of the world.

  1. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase allows your skin to glide as it moves, as opposed to being pulled and caught by typical cotton blend cases. THIS ONE ON AMAZON is highly-rated and one of the most affordable options I’ve come across.
  2. Take makeup breaks! I only wear makeup a couple times a week, because I like to let my skin breathe. I’ve had a noticeable improvement in my breakouts/blemishes since doing so!
  3. SUNBLOCK, SUNBLOCK, SUNBLOCK! The sun may give your skin a toasty glow, but it does so much damage in the process. Texture, hydration, and wrinkles are some of the minor side effects, along with scarier ones like skin cancer. Do what you can to protect yourself! Wear and re-apply a high spf sunscreen often when you spend time outside, and don’t be afraid to throw on a cute hat to help block those harmful rays. I personally use Supergoop! Glow Screen, and love the way it feels AND looks on my face.
  4. Drink lots of water! When we are dehydrated, our skin suffers the consequences. Our skin becomes dry, which triggers the body to produce more oil, leading to breakouts.

Skin-care is not just a vanity issue, it’s part of our overall health and wellness. Invest in yourself and your body will serve you well!

XO, ASHLEY
