My bedroom is my sanctuary! I consider it the most peaceful space in my home, and I aim to treat it as such. Justin and I recently rearranged the room to be more business-friendly and functional. One thing that has been important to me is having, what I affectionately call, my “zen zone”. It’s the area by my side of the bed where I keep the things I use to help my mind and body unwind at the end of the day. Everything serves a purpose, and everything is within arms’ reach.

 

TECH

To simplify my outlet situation, I use this USB Wall Charger Surge Protector that not only gives me five outlets, it gives me peace of mind that I won’t have overloaded circuits. I also use these cord holders to prevent tangling and organize the cords in an optimal way. And my Hudson table lamp adds the perfect lighting ambiance to wrap up the day. 

 

SELF-CARE

I am a huge proponent of self-care in all its forms. I have daily practices & interventions that keep my mind and body centered. I keep my @golden.coil planner on my nightstand to celebrate the tasks I accomplished that day, as well as remind myself what the next day is going to look like. Mentally, it takes away a lot of the excess thought circling when I’m able to write things down and get them out of my head. I’ve also found that sitting down on Sunday night and preparing my daily medication/vitamins in this pill organizer removes unnecessary worrying/having to remember what I’ve taken, and how much. Not gonna lie, it makes me feel old, but it’s also improved my quality of life by doing so. So, no shame!

 

I’ve always enjoyed practicing physical self-care, but it’s ramped up significantly since battling meningitis. I still deal with chronic headaches and neck pain, and managing those symptoms is vital for my well-being. I keep my “relief toolkit” in my zen zone for quick access to pain management. It consists of Doterra’s Deep Blue Rub and the world’s best heating pad that I will never stop raving about!

BEDDING

We spend a third of our lives in bed, so we should invest in the quality, comfort, and aesthetic that best serves us. I prefer a neutral palette for my bedding, to invite calm and warmth as opposed to stimulating brights. However, if color brings you joy, go with it! It’s all about how you feel when you see your resting place. 

I do like to switch up my bedding every so often to renew and re-energize the vibe in there. This is our current setup, and I’m pretty smitten with it. Links to each piece below!
