I’m a shameless pop culture connoisseur. When the opportunity came up to visit New York City with a group of my friends this fall, I made sure our itinerary included some of my favorite, iconic locations; all of which are public places, with google-able addresses. I wanted to share a few of my favorites here, in case you needed a one-stop list of hot spots to visit if you’re in the city.
First, we’ll stop off at The Hotel Chelsea (222 W 23rd Street New York, N.Y. 10011).
This legendary hotel has housed an endless list of celebrity royalty, from Mark Twain to Janis Joplin. It most recently got buzz for being mentioned in Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department”. So as a die-hard swiftie, it was a mandatory stop.
Speaking of Taylor, our next location is that of the building she owns/lives in part time in Tribeca (155 Franklin St, New York, NY 10013).
It was such a thrill standing outside of this building and knowing what an important piece of her life it is. I felt starstruck just being near it. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful, and I can’t recommend this place enough!
And of course, we could always make a stop at Cornelia Street as well (3 Cornelia St, New York, NY 10014).
Next, let’s pay a little visit to my spirit-sister Carrie Bradshaw. The iconic brownstone Sarah Jessica Parker’s character lived in on Sex and the City is equally as stunning in person (64 Perry Street in West Village).
You’ve Got Mail has been one of my favorite movies for as long as I can remember. And while the entire film takes place in NYC, the ideal location to visit is obviously the garden in the final scenes (91st Street Garden, Riverside Park). There’s just something so magical about a delicate garden in the middle of a busy city–it’s definitely worth the trip to see it!
Last, but definitely not least, we have the apartment building from Friends (90 Bedford St, New York, NY 10014). You won’t want to miss this photo op if you’re a fan of the show, or 90’s culture in general. So whenever you decide to make the trip, this building will be there for you 😉
I’d love to hear your favorite pop culture landmarks in New York that I missed, so I can add them to the list for next time!
Happy Travels,
Xo Ashley
