Packing for the Park/Pool: top products you’ll want to include!

Maybe you live in a summer year-round kind of climate, but over here in Utah we are juuuust getting to the sunshine-y season after a long, wet winter. My children are the definition of pool rats, who can spend countless hours swimming/playing in the water. While we spend our days at our local pools/parks, I like to be prepared and stocked up on the items we need to stay healthy and soak up the fun. Everything from the best sunblock, pool-toys, organization systems, etc. I’ve got you covered with the “Everything You Need Summer Pack”!

HEALTH/SAFETY
Protecting our skin from the sun should be a top priority when spending the day outside. When it comes to sunscreens, I look for high quality, high spf brands. I love using SUPERGOOP! because it not only protects from UV rays, it also moisturizes and nourishes the skin. I use both the spray and lotion varieties, but with the lotion I utilize a secret pro-tip that I consider one of the greatest life hacks: MAKEUP BRUSHES!
You’ll never have to have those oily hands from applying sunscreen again. I put the sunblock in dots around their faces and necks, then used the brush to blend it out and cover all areas (much like applying foundation). Try it out and I promise you’ll thank me!

Staying hydrated is also a top concern of outdoor safety. At the pool it’s easy to forget to drink water, since you are submerged in it. POOL BAG
I love grabbing my large WATERPROOF POOL BAG and having it pre-filled with everything we’ll need for the day. I swear by these MESH ZIPPER BAGS to carry keys, wallet, snacks, etc. and ensure they stay dry amidst the water.

I don’t know about you, but I am so over lugging heavy, wet towels home after a swim. We exclusively use Turkish cotton towels, because they are super lightweight, they dry quickly, and they do a great job of drying you off. Both THIS BRAND and THIS BRAND are incredible! I usually hang them up using these TOWEL CLIPS when we get home, and they are ready to be used again in minutes!

I’m super picky about goggles that don’t pull hair, especially since my daughter’s is particularly fragile. Of all the brands we’ve tried, I love these DRAWSTRING STYLE GOGGLES and these FABRIC-STRAP GOGGLES the most. 

HAMMOCKS
