I want to give you some tips for simplifying the season, tips to avoid overwhelm and find balance during the holidays! It is such a special time of year and I know we get over stimulated easily.
First thing I recommend you do is a time audit, list everything you think you need to do (cards to send, parties, gifts to buy etc.) and then you are going to DELEGATE and DELETE. Delegate things that can be done by others and that you don’t NEED to do yourself. Look at your list and see what is necessary and what needs to go! As you delete things, you will feel the weight of a thousand pounds lift off of your shoulders!
What you will have at the end is a list of the things that matter the most to you that are really important; doing this has been so helpful for me and I love doing it around holidays, special occasions, work etc. There is this idea that balance is impossible, balance has never looked like equal time in all arenas of my life, balance for me is trusting that when I put God first and my intentions first that I will be exactly where I need to be that day.
I rely heavily on my Heavenly Father for help; when you trust the process and are intentional about your time, you will feel that you are exactly where you need to be that day. The holidays are so special and I want to give you permission to live them as you want to live them and not because anyone else tells you to live them a certain way, do the things that matter most to you!
