I LOVE getting older! It really is such a gift – There is so much peace and wisdom that comes with aging. Along with those positive impacts, we will also experience physical changes that accompany aging such as wrinkles from facial tension. Is it possible to embrace these changes, while at the same time do things to take care of our skin as it ages? YES!
And you can treasure those earned wrinkles while still prioritizing skin care. What matters is that the love you have for yourself doesn’t change regardless of any physical changes.
I want to share about a skin-care method that softens your aging beauty, while promoting the health and vibrancy of it.
Using face tape as an alternative to Botox and fillers is a non-invasive method to temporarily lift and tighten the skin. There are many benefits to face-taping that we can chat about below, as well as instructions on how to do it!
It’s Inexpensive
I’ve used a few different brands of overnight face tape, and the one I’ve landed on as being my favorite ALSO happens to be the most affordable! I apply this basic medical tape every night to my face, and the rolls last for months. For me, it has worked just as well, if not better, than the more expensive brands. And obviously it’s significantly cheaper than more invasive methods.
It’s Healthy for your Skin
The lifting effect from the tape can help improve product-absorption, allowing your favorite serums and moisturizers to better penetrate the skin. This can improve your overall skin texture and hydration. Long-term, consistent use of the tape will help with the appearance of fine lines and expression lines.
No Needles
One of the best parts of using face tape is avoiding invasive treatments that would otherwise require needles or surgery! It can be done entirely at home, making it an accessible and easy option.
Instructions
You can watch my little tutorial on my Instagram highlights here!
- At bedtime, wash your face
- Apply your moisturizer/serums
- Give your skin about 5 minutes to dry
- For applying the tape, lift and smooth out the area with one hand and place the piece of tape with the other hand, smoothing it out to secure its placement. The length of the tape will vary based on the area you are applying it to. Do NOT place tape on the sensitive skin under your eyes!
- Leave all of the tape on as you go to sleep
- The next morning, peel up one corner of the tape and gently pull to remove it
If you’re looking for natural ways to effectively tighten your skin, I would highly recommend face-taping! It’s a minimal-effort intervention with noticeable results.
Happy taping!
